Education
British Colombia Institute of Technology Jan 2019 - Present
Diploma - Computer Systems Technology So far we have focuses on java based programming, but I also learned about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js and more. We have had oportunities to work in teams to create some awesome projects. In future classes I'll get the chance learn C, C++ and more.
New Westminster Secondary School Sept 2013 - June 2018
High School While in high school I enjoyed learning about Math, Science and Programming. My first experience with programming was an information technology course in the 9th grade where I learned the basics of HTML and C++. My interest in programming grew larger after taking a "Work Experience" course where I spent a few weeks working with the "Spittin Image Software" team.
Work
Q to Q Ferry Aug 2018 - December 2018
Deckhand I had a blast working with the Q to Q ferry team where I supervised the safety of up to 12 passengers on a 28-foot passenger ferry, collected their fares and pet their dogs. I would tie the ferry to the dock to ensure that the boat would stay steady so that everyone could step off of the boat safely.
Spitting Image Software Oct 2017 - December 2017
Volunteer | Student During a "work experience" course in high school where students would volunteer in different industries they were interested in, I got the chance to spend some time at Spittin Image Software. I would go in twice a week for a few hours spending time on small tasks they gave me to help me learn JavaScript. I built a simple calculator and a program that would plot a list of addresses onto a map using google maps api.
The Aquabus May 2017 - August 2017
Deckhand I spent the summer before senior year working at the Aquabus. I would collect the fares of up to 30 passengers at a time while ensuring the safety of everyone on board. I loved how social the aquabus was, I got to talk to my driver, locals and tourists all day long all while enjoying the beatiful view of Vancouver.
Mcdonalds Sept 2015 - Febuary 2017
Crew Member My first true work experience was at one of the local Mcdonalds, when I was 15. I worked at the front end so I would be the cashier, drive thru attendant, make coffees, fries, pies, desserts and more. It was a great experience working in a team because you needed to constantly communicate with each other to ensure everyones orders could be completed in a timly fashion.
